13th International Symposium: Drawing and the Performing arts - Palais Brongniart

Every year for the last 13 years, the Salon du Dessin has been offering its visitors a scientific symposium bringing together the best specialists in the discipline. The records of the fascinating proceedings, published annually, are a point of reference.

The 10 speakers will, under the presidency of Pierre Rosenberg and Michèle Sajous D’Oria, discuss the first part of the theme 'Drawing and the Performing arts: gesture and space'.
The aim is to reflect on the specificity of the ephemeral practice that is performance: drawing as memory and/or the visual record of practices and habits of the stage, or more generally of the performance and theatrical life, such as set designs, architectural plans, portraits of actors, singers and dancers, sketches of stages, studies and a few rare drawings evoking music.

Le thème des Rencontres internationales du Salon du Dessin est:

Le Dessin et les Arts du spectacle: le geste et l’espace

Sous la présidence de Monsieur Pierre Rosenberg de l’Académie française et sous la direction scientifique de MadameMichèle Sajous D’Oria, professeur à l’Università di Bari, le salon du dessin qui, depuis 2006, organise chaque année des Rencontres internationales autour d’un thème, a décidé, pour deux années consécutives, 2018 et 2019, de s’intéresser aux Arts du spectacle.
Le projet a pour ambition d’engager une réflexion sur la spécificité de la pratique éphémère que constitue le spectacle : le dessin comme mémoire et/ou comme témoignage figuratif de pratiques et usages de la scène, ou plus en général du spectacle et de la vie théâtrale, tels que des décors, des plans d’architecture, des portraits d’acteurs, de chanteurs et de danseurs, des croquis de scène, des esquisses et quelques rares dessins évoquant la musique.
